Future of Science and Medicine - Nov2k 2011

Nov2k is a yearly symposium that is organized and run by graduate students at Karolinska Institutet and Södertörn University. This year's event will be on the 3rd and 4th of November, the 12th edition and probably the best ever. The aim of Nov2k is to foster connections between scientists from different fields, and lead to new initiatives, creative ideas and future collaborations. Everyone from PhDs to PIs are welcome.

Karolinska Institutet

Participation in the symposium itself is free, but advance registration entitles you to:

  • coffee and cakes at coffee breaks
  • lunch!
  • the possibility to present a poster and win attractive poster prizes
  • An invitation to a second day at the beautifully situated conference establishment Bommersvik (including three course dinner and dancing until late!)

Poster prizes!

The best poster recieves 10.000kr to be used within the group (e.g. for a trip somewhere). Runner-up best 4 posters receive 3000kr. Only for those participating both days, prize handed out the second day.

2-day Format

Two days with overnight stay at Bommersvik. You can choose to only participate the first day, or both days + party/dinner + overnight stay.

What makes Nov2k special?

Last year more than 200 registered attendants visited the symposium, making Nov2k one of the largest student organized events in and around Novum Research Park. The symposium ends with a champagne reception, dinner and a big party where attending guests can meet under less formal circumstances. There is also a sauna available at Bommersvik.

What is Nov2k?

The symposium is educational and offers a wide ranging biosciences programme, with the emphasis on future research and innovation. We invite employees and students from all departments and institutions.
